October Exhibit

The YCCC Library will exhibit the artwork of Wells artist Morbideus W. Goodell during the month of October. “Can Art be both beautiful and disturbing at the same time?”, the artist questions. Few are willing to stare into the abyss, so Morbideus has brought dark images back from the depths for the fun and amusement of all. Creating what he calls “The Fine Art of Death,” Morbideus’ muse is making images that he hopes others will appreciate in spite of themselves.

October Exhibits...

I spoke with Amber Tatnall about displaying at the York County Community College October display in the Campus Library. Should be very cool, definately looking forward to it. I need to make up a new Press Release (I hate that), but a necessary unpleasantly...

Simultaneously, I hope the Horror Fantasy Art Show in Salem Mass. will be taking place this year. It's always up in the air until September, and usually late Sept. at that, since many Property Baron's are reluctant to rent out for a single month, in case someone shows up who'd like to rent with a lease and everything. I can't blame them for that...

Necon Rundown...

Rundown, lowdown, I know not from whence I doth speaketh...

LAST MONTH I attended the infamous Camp Necon, my 3rd year so far...

One of these years, I hope to an rate Air conditioned room. I was also fortunate enough to rate, for the second year in a row (thank you) a spill-over room, what the other residence and I affectionately took to calling the NoseBleed Section. These were rooms that were on Campus, in the second quad, and would have been great rooms had Camp Necon actually taken place on campus. A vast improvement over last years NoseBleed Section, which I won't even get into. (Although remind me to tell you about the Raining Daddy Long-Legs, it's an amusing story...)

In addition to a better room, this year went better than last year. I left feeling I hadn't alienated or creeped out more people than in years past., (by "creeped out" ...it's a Horror-Writers Convention, so that would be "creeped out" in a not-so-good way.) I like to think I even mended a few mis-steps from last year. I had a GREAT time, drank less

On a professional level, it's a mixed bag. Sales were down from previous years, due to a plethora of reasons, but I'll go with "the economy". Otherwise, it was worth it, as always. I got plenty of opportunity to talk with, and share ideas with both Jill Bauman and Steve Gilberts. Two of my favorite artists in the genre, who are both very generous with information on techniques. Once again, I left a better artist than when I arrived, which is priceless. Also Jill expressed interest in Postmortem Productions make some T-shirts of her art. How does it get better than that?? It don't.

Scarred for Life

I've been asked (written to) on several occasions for permission to get my art as a tattoo. Being a tattoo enthusiast, and big fan of permanently defacing ones body, of course I always agree. The only thing I ever ask is to please send me a picture of the finished work. I'd like to see it, what was done with/to it, and if I'm REALLY lucky, see a boob...

No one has EVER sent me a photo of the finished work, I don't even know if it even happened. Until recently...

So HATS OFF to Rick in CA, who sent me this:
